Fizzy Lavender Hearts for your bath

Want to make your bathing experience more enjoyable? Check out these fizzy heart bombs! I have selected only those good ingredients, that will enhance your health, help you detoxify (Epsom salt) and relax (pure lavender and rosemary essential oils and rose water). Rather than using colourants, I used organic ground turmeric, which gives them lovely creamy yellow colour. You will only need to add one heart to your bath tub once you are already in! Watch those fizzy hearts pop, it is fun! Enjoy the healing properties of essential oils! Dry ingredients:      1 cup aluminium free baking soda 1/2 cup citric acid 1/2 cup Epsom salt (finely ground in a blender) 1/2 cup corn starch (optional) 1 tspn lavender buds 1 tspn turmeric powder Wet ingredients: 2 tspn apricot kernel oil (or almond, or olive, or jojoba, or sesame) 60 drops of selected pure essential oils (30 lavender+ 30 rosemary) 1 tspn rose water placed in a spray bottle     Method: Combine all dry ingredients including lavender buds and turmeric. Add oils and stir well until all ingredients nicely distributed throughout the mix. Slowly spritz the rose water over the dry ingredients, while constantly stirring. The mix will start fizzing slightly in places. Only when all the ingredients are moist enough to clump together, firmly press into the cavities of moulds (I used muffin silicone moulds). You can use gloves as turmeric tends to be colouring your fingers. Allow to dry for about 3-4 hours in a cool place. Remove from moulds, place in air tight container to stop them from being activated by humidity and... Read More

Apple Cider Vinegar Toner

Apple cider vinegar is a miracle elixir. It contains natural alpha hydroxy acids that exfoliate and brighten the skin. It restores the skin’s natural ph balance and is suitable for any kind of complexion. I have started making and using my own apple cider vinegar tonic about a year ago and absolutely love it. I enjoy the fact, that I have a control of what I put on my skin as I get to choose all the ingredients. Needless to say, they are of highest quality and preferably organic. I have also made my own apple cider vinegar, which makes it even more special. Here is my recipe and some tips on what kind of ingredients you can add, depending on what is available to you.       Basic ingredients:  organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar rose water mix of organic herbs: rosemary, lavender, etc. 2-3 cinnamon sticks about 10 organic cloves 5 drops organic tea tree oil peel from 1/2 organic orange and lemon     Instructions: Fill up a glass jar to 2/3 with apple cider vinegar and 1/3 rose water. Add all herbs and other ingredients ensuring all is covered and cinnamon is not sticking out. Close firmly and place in a dark and cool place for at least a week shaking the mixture once a day. Strain and dilute with distilled water (equal part of the tonic and water). Bottle and keep in the bathroom and the remaining mixture in the fridge until needed.   Tips:  If your skin is oily, you can add some witch hazel (available as a liquid in organic store). It...
